Ben is our Senior Physiotherapist and has an extensive background in Musculoskeletal and Sports Physiotherapy.

Ben was involved with the South Sydney Rabbitohs system for 4 years as Head Physiotherapist for both the U17’s and U19’s squads. In his time at the club, he also assisted the medical team with the NRL squad. Prior to this, he worked with football teams Canterbury Bankstown FC and Rockdale City Suns in the National Premier League.

He has continued his professional development by completing courses - Athletic Groin Pain Symposium, Upper Limb Rehabilitation in Sport and Mastering Lower Limb Tendinopathy as well as dry needling courses.

He has a special interest in the treatment of complex hamstring and acute lower limb injuries. Ben believes that everybody is an athlete in their own right and therefore each individual should receive the same level of expertise and ongoing care like that of a professional athlete.

Chronic pain can affect movement, sleep, work, and day-to-day function. It often develops from a combination of physical, neurological, and lifestyle factors, and recovery usually requires more than short-term symptom relief. At The Addison, we take an evidence-based approach that focuses on improving function and rebuilding confidence in movement over time.

Assessment at our Marrickville clinic includes identifying contributing factors such as load tolerance, strength deficits, movement patterns, and daily habits. Treatment typically involves education, graded strengthening, movement retraining, and manual therapy where appropriate. The aim is to support the nervous system, improve capacity, and reduce sensitivity rather than simply chase pain reduction alone.

Our multidisciplinary team works together, including physiotherapists, sports physicians, massage therapists, dietitians, and strength and conditioning professionals when required. This ensures care is coordinated and aligned with your goals.

We support individuals across Marrickville, Enmore, and the wider Inner West to understand their condition, regain confidence in their body, and make sustainable progress over time.

Ben's creates simple and achievable programs for all clients and ensure that longevity is at the forefront of their rehab plan.

FAQs

  • Who do you work with?

We work with people experiencing ongoing or recurring pain, including those managing pain after injury, surgery, work-related strain, or conditions that have developed gradually over time.

  • What type of chronic pain do you treat?

We treat persistent neck and back pain, joint and tendon pain, nerve-related pain, and pain linked to movement sensitivity or reduced strength. Treatment focuses on improving function and confidence in movement.

  • Do I need a referral to see a physiotherapist?

No referral is required. You can book directly. Referrals only apply for Medicare or insurance programs, and we can advise if this is relevant for you.

  • How soon should I book in?

If pain has been present for more than a few weeks or is affecting daily activity, booking an assessment early helps address contributing factors and guide appropriate progression.

  • Can you communicate with my doctor or specialist?

Yes. We regularly liaise with GPs, specialists, psychologists, and other providers to ensure your care is coordinated and consistent.

  • What happens during my first appointment?

We review your history, assess movement and contributing factors, clarify your diagnosis, and begin a structured plan that may include education, movement retraining, and graded strengthening.
