Sports Injuries
Ben is our Senior Physiotherapist and has an extensive background in Musculoskeletal and Sports Physiotherapy.
Ben was involved with the South Sydney Rabbitohs system for 4 years as Head Physiotherapist for both the U17’s and U19’s squads. In his time at the club, he also assisted the medical team with the NRL squad. Prior to this, he worked with football teams Canterbury Bankstown FC and Rockdale City Suns in the National Premier League.
He has continued his professional development by completing courses - Athletic Groin Pain Symposium, Upper Limb Rehabilitation in Sport and Mastering Lower Limb Tendinopathy as well as dry needling courses.
He has a special interest in the treatment of complex hamstring and acute lower limb injuries. Ben believes that everybody is an athlete in their own right and therefore each individual should receive the same level of expertise and ongoing care like that of a professional athlete.
Sports injuries may occur from sudden force or from gradual overload over time. At The Addison, we begin with a clear clinical diagnosis and movement-based assessment to identify the contributing factors and understand the specific demands of your sport or activity. This ensures rehabilitation is targeted, measurable, and relevant to your performance needs.
Our team draws on extensive experience in elite-level sport to deliver evidence-based rehabilitation within a local, Marrickville community setting. Treatment plans typically include hands-on therapy, load management, progressive strength and conditioning, and sport-specific preparation to support a safe and confident return to activity. When required, we coordinate care with our sports physicians, dietitian, and massage therapists to ensure management is cohesive and complete.
The aim is not only to address the current injury, but to restore confidence, improve capacity, and reduce recurrence risk. We provide structured, performance-informed rehabilitation for athletes and active individuals across Marrickville and the Inner West.
Ben's creates simple and achievable programs for all clients and ensure that longevity is at the forefront of their rehab plan.

FAQs
Who do you work with?
We work with athletes and active individuals of all levels, including team sport players, runners, gym users, and those returning to activity after time off.
What type of sports injuries do you treat?
We treat acute and overuse injuries involving muscles, tendons, joints, and ligaments. Common examples include sprains, strains, tendinopathies, joint irritation, and stress-related injuries.
Do I need a referral to see a physiotherapist?
No referral is needed. You can book directly. Medicare or insurance referrals only apply in specific circumstances, and we can guide you if needed.
How soon after an injury should I book in?
As soon as possible. Early assessment helps reduce swelling, guide safe movement, and prevent the injury from worsening.
Can you communicate with my coach or doctor?
Yes. We regularly coordinate with coaches, trainers, and medical providers to ensure your rehab and training plan is aligned.
