Ben is our Senior Physiotherapist and has an extensive background in Musculoskeletal and Sports Physiotherapy.
Ben was involved with the South Sydney Rabbitohs system for 4 years as Head Physiotherapist for both the U17’s and U19’s squads. In his time at the club, he also assisted the medical team with the NRL squad. Prior to this, he worked with football teams Canterbury Bankstown FC and Rockdale City Suns in the National Premier League.
He has continued his professional development by completing courses - Athletic Groin Pain Symposium, Upper Limb Rehabilitation in Sport and Mastering Lower Limb Tendinopathy as well as dry needling courses.
He has a special interest in the treatment of complex hamstring and acute lower limb injuries. Ben believes that everybody is an athlete in their own right and therefore each individual should receive the same level of expertise and ongoing care like that of a professional athlete.
At The Addison, massage therapy is used to support recovery, improve circulation, and assist with ongoing performance or daily function. Our remedial massage therapists use evidence-based techniques including deep tissue release, soft tissue mobilisation, joint mobilisation, and, where appropriate, dry needling. Treatment is aimed at reducing muscle tension, improving mobility, and managing discomfort related to load, posture, or training demands.
Each session is tailored to your presentation and goals. Treatment focus and pressure are adjusted depending on whether the aim is recovery from activity, management of persistent tightness, or preparation for ongoing physical demands. When needed, your massage therapist works in coordination with our physiotherapy and sports medicine teams to ensure treatment aligns with your broader rehabilitation or performance plan.
Massage therapy at The Addison provides structured, targeted support for people recovering from injury, managing muscle tightness, or maintaining movement capacity across Marrickville and the Inner West.
Ben's creates simple and achievable programs for all clients and ensure that longevity is at the forefront of their rehab plan.

FAQs
What types of massage do you offer?
We offer remedial massage, sports massage, pregnancy massage, and soft tissue therapy. Techniques are selected based on your presentation and goals.
What is the difference between remedial and relaxation massage?
Remedial massage is targeted and treatment-focused, aiming to reduce pain and improve mobility. Relaxation massage is gentler and focused on general stress relief and comfort.
Is massage covered by private health insurance?
Yes, if you have Extras cover for remedial massage. We provide on-the-spot claiming through HICAPS.
How often should I have a massage?
Frequency depends on your training load, symptoms, and goals. Many people benefit from sessions every 2–4 weeks, with closer spacing during periods of higher demand.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Comfortable clothing that allows access to the area being treated. Towels and draping are always used for privacy.
Can I have a massage if I’m sore or injured?
Yes. Treatment will be modified to suit your condition, and we may involve one of our physiotherapists if further assessment is required.
