He has a special interest in the treatment of complex hamstring and acute lower limb injuries. Ben believes that everybody is an athlete in their own right and therefore each individual should receive the same level of expertise and ongoing care like that of a professional athlete.

Neck and back pain are among the most common reasons people seek care, and since COVID, we’ve seen this even more across Sydney, with many working from home in makeshift setups that place extra strain on the spine. Over time, this can lead to persistent tightness, reduced mobility, and ongoing discomfort.

At The Addison, we begin with a thorough assessment to understand how you move, how you work, and what factors may be contributing to your symptoms. Your treatment is tailored and may include hands-on therapy, mobility and strengthening exercises, postural guidance, and simple changes to daily habits that make a meaningful difference.

Where useful, our physiotherapists collaborate with our sports medicine and massage team to support a coordinated, rounded approach. We help you reduce pain, restore movement, and feel confident in your body again — both now and long term.

Ben's creates simple and achievable programs for all clients and ensure that longevity is at the forefront of their rehab plan.

FAQs

  • What causes neck and back pain?

Neck and back pain can come from muscle tension, joint stiffness, reduced strength, prolonged sitting, stress, or previous injury. Often, several factors contribute rather than a single cause.

  • When should I see a physio for neck or back pain?

If pain lasts longer than a few days, keeps returning, affects daily activity, or is accompanied by stiffness or nerve symptoms, it’s best to book an assessment.

  • Can a physio help with pain from sitting or desk work?

Yes. We assess posture, movement patterns, and muscle strength, then provide exercises and ergonomic strategies to reduce discomfort and improve tolerance to sitting.

  • Can you help with nerve-related pain or sciatica?

Yes. Treatment focuses on improving nerve mobility, reducing irritation, and restoring strength and control. We also guide safe progression back to activity.

  • Should I rest completely if my back or neck hurts?

No. Complete rest often leads to more stiffness and sensitivity. Guided movement and gradual strengthening are usually more effective.

  • Can you help with headaches and migraines related to neck tension?

Yes. We assess neck mobility, muscle tension, and contributing factors, then use manual therapy and exercise to reduce strain and improve symptom control.
